What an amazing weekend we had! Difficult to dress though if you are watching wildlife early/late as well as during the day as the early and late hours are still freezing cold, while it is T-shirt weather during the day.
The warm and sunny weather has brought a lot of animals out earlier than usual.
On the commons the Dartford warblers are out in big numbers - never seen so many!
Most of them have paired up and are busy building nests.
A lot of Stonechats, Linnets, Yellowhammers too and I was lucky to see a flock of about 10 Crossbills close up :-o
Still waiting to see an adder but there are lots of lizards out, usually running off before you can get a glimps of them.
Down the river the beavers are out in the last daylight now , but still most active after sunset.
So many birds are busy during the day, all getting ready for nesting season or they are already on their nests, dippers are busy feeding!
And today was the first day I have seen the Orange Tips, they seem to have emerged all in on go, the males with their orange and white coloured wings are fluttering around the Garlic mustard plants, trying to find a female.
